Bangor Opioid Settlement Funds Advisory Committee

On April 28, 2025 the Bangor City Council established the Opioid Settlement Funds Advisory Committee via order 25-147. The nine (9) voting positions are as follows:

  • City Councilor, who shall serve as Committee Chair (Councilor Sue Hawes)
  • Individual with personal experience of substance use disorder
  • Individual who has lost a partner, spouse, or loved one to an opioid overdose
  • Professional with experience in the treatment of substance use disorder
  • City of Bangor Police Department (Chief Mark Hathaway)
  • Individual with experience providing recovery housing
  • Individual with experience in prevention-focused youth programming
  • Individual with experience in harm reduction
  • City Manager or their designee (Carollynn Lear)

On May 28, 2025 the Bangor City Council appointed the following people to the Opioid Settlement Funds Advisory Committee:

  • Scott Knowles (Personal experience)
  • Lisa Williams (Professional with experience in treatment)
  • Shelly Yankowsky (Lost family member)
  • Scott Pardy (Experience in providing recovery housing)
  • Alison Small (Youth programming)
  • Jayson Hunt (Harm reduction)
